Using the right trainers

TrainersWe talk about trainers quite a lot with our customers at Boot Camp and during personal training.

Having the right pair can be the difference between a good workout and a great work out. So, choosing the right kind is important, and paying for quality often returns dividends rather than going for cheap alternatives.

Wrong trainers Gromit?

We've all done it, gone to the local sports shop and brought the best looking fashionable trainers that offer no support for our feet with little thought about the type of training we're going to be doing.

If you're wearing the wrong type of trainers then this may be holding your performance back and could be having an effecting your overall fitness!

Here is a quick guide to help you choose the right type of trainers for the right type of training:

Trainers Road Trainers

Road trainers:

Used for running on hard surfaces such as pavements etc.

Also good for general gym use and indoor fitness classes.

Trainers Off Road Trainers

Off road or trail trainers:

Have a superior tread and are great for outdoor use such as mountain running, running on wet grass, gravel and mud.

Also a good choice for muddy fitness events such as the Tough Mudder.

Trainers Hybrid Trainers

Hybrid trainers:

A cross of both road and trail trainers, offering you the best of both.

These trainers can be used on and off road and are best for Boot Camp training to prevent slipping on wet grass.

It's also worth mentioning here that the better the quality of your trainers then the more support and protection you'll be getting for your feet, joints and spinal column. Remember your Hodge member's club card offers you 10% discount on all trainers from Easy Runner running shop in Bristol.
